About

Hello and welcome to homelesshelp.io. My name is Mike, and I'm the founder and developer here. My mission for this site is extremely simple:

Help homeless and low-income individuals + families across the US quickly and easily find resources near them for free.

There is no catch. There are no companies backing this. I'm just one person trying to make a difference the best I know how. Please have a look around, and please submit an organization in your area that could help others. You will find a Frequently Asked Questions section to your right (desktop) or below (mobile) to answer some questions you may have.

Thank you for being here and supporting this passion project-

-Mike

At this moment, I do not want monetary donations. Instead, I ask that you take 5-10 minutes of your day and submit an organization near you.

An ideal organization is a non-profit, not-for-profit or business that provides either free or low-cost services to homeless or low-income individuals.

This generally only takes a few minutes of research and is instrumental in our ability to help those in need. This site cannot grow without your help. You can single-handedly reach hundreds of people with your submission.

Hang tight! We'd love to help you. This site is brand new, so please be patient as our list of resources grows over the coming months.

Great question! In our best effort to prevent spam and to make sure we are providing quality resources, every submission goes into a verification queue.

Volunteers go through each submission to make sure information is legitimate and also screen them for offensive content. Once your submission is placed into a verified status it will instantly be added to the list! Thank you so much for helping!

Absolutely! We will be releasing a short list of video guides shortly with links in this section. The site is very easy to use and we will break down the main features for you.

This is the first thing I looked into when I started researching for this project. Could I actually reach and help people?

First, this site isn't purely for homeless people. It is meant to assist homeless and low-income people mainly, but anyone can use this site to find assistance.

Second, there is a lot of research showing that approximately 55-70% of homeless people have some sort of phone or tablet device that can access the internet. That is A LOT of people.

On top of that percentage, many organizations, resource centers, libraries and cafes have access to computers, as well.

I've been asked this a lot. I've received tons of support throughout this journey, as well as plenty of "Aren't there other sites that do this" or "Aren't there enough resources out there?”

Yes, there are other resources out there. No, there aren't enough. I'm not making this to compete. I'm making this to add to the existing resources that some amazing people, groups and organizations already provide to make a positive impact.

I want to help as many people as possible. It's that simple.

Absolutely not. This site is completely free for you to find the assistance you need, and you can do so without signing up.

As a way to protect the quality of organizations being submitted from offensive and spam items, you do need to register to submit an organization. It's one step and you can begin submitting an organization within seconds.

Whether you are here to find help, or here to submit helpful resources, the site is completely free.
