Community Forward Sobering Center

24-hour, 12-bed facility with medical staff, designed especially to give homeless people in the throes of addiction – patients who cannot be let into conventional shelters in their current state – a safe and compassionate place to go. Now the number one referral center for detox in San Francisco, The Sobering Center’s short-term goal is to help get people off the street and into a safe and appropriate environment when they are in trouble, and to keep them under medical supervision until they are safe and sober enough to leave.
Its long-term goal is to help clients develop the connections and confidence to make the decision, on their own, to accept longer term help and support.
